Which countries does Drivewatch operate in?

Drivewatch works wherever you drive in Europe. We officially support the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Austria, and Switzerland for cloud features, with hardware that records anywhere a car can go. Other countries such as Morocco or Turkey can be added at an additional cost.

Do I need to be tech-savvy to use Drivewatch?

No. The dashcam runs as soon as it's powered, and the mobile app walks you through pairing in under two minutes. If you can use a smartphone, you can use Drivewatch.

How does installation work?

We install every system professionally for you — and right now that's included at no charge. A certified installer wires the camera, mounts it cleanly, and hands your vehicle back ready to go. There's no self-install to worry about.

Do I need a professional installer?

We take care of it. Every Drivewatch system is fitted by a certified installer — included at no extra cost — so there's no DIY setup. For a personal vehicle it takes about 60 to 90 minutes; for a fleet, our team plans the rollout around the number of vehicles.

Which vehicles is Drivewatch compatible with?

Any vehicle with a 12V or 24V electrical system — cars, vans, trucks, motorcycles (with the moto kit), and campers. Hybrid and electric vehicles are fully supported.

How long does setup take?

About 60 to 90 minutes for a personal vehicle — we handle wiring, mounting, calibration and a test before handing it back. For a fleet it depends on the number of vehicles; our team plans the rollout with you.

How much does Drivewatch cost?

No monthly subscription. For personal use it's a one-time purchase from €499.95, professional installation included at no extra charge, with the first year of cloud data and features included free. After year one, renewing another year is optional at €180/year. For fleets, pricing is tailored per vehicle to the size of your fleet — request a quote and our team will scope it with you.

Is there a free trial?

For personal customers the first year of cloud data and features is included free — no trial period needed. For fleets, you can run a pilot on part of your fleet before committing to a full rollout.

Can I cancel anytime?

Accepted Answer

There's nothing to cancel — personal use has no monthly subscription. After your free first year, renewing another year of cloud features is optional at €180/year. If you don't renew, the app keeps working, just without live GPS tracking and without live notifications. Your hardware always stays yours.

What happens to my footage?

Footage is stored on the dashcam's SD card by default and encrypted in transit when uploaded to the cloud. Cloud retention is 30 days for personal plans, configurable for fleets. Only you (and accounts you authorise) can access it.

Is Drivewatch GDPR-compliant?

Yes. We're a Dutch company hosting data in EU-based servers (Amsterdam and Frankfurt), with full GDPR compliance including data export, right-to-deletion, and an EU-appointed Data Protection Officer. Fleet plans include a signed data-processing agreement.

Who has access to my video footage?

Accepted Answer

Only you. Drivewatch staff never view your footage except when you explicitly share a clip for support. For fleet accounts, the customer's nominated administrators control access — Drivewatch has no standing access to your data.

Can I manage multiple vehicles from one dashboard?

Yes — the Drivewatch fleet platform was built for this. View live feeds, AI-flagged events, driver scores, and trip history across your entire fleet from a single web dashboard, with role-based access for managers, dispatchers, and safety officers.

Does Drivewatch integrate with existing fleet management systems?

We offer integrations with major Dutch and European fleet platforms, plus a REST API for custom workflows. Insurance reporting integrations are available for major Dutch insurers.

Is driver coaching included?

Yes. Every fleet plan includes the driver coaching module — automated scoring per trip, in-app feedback for drivers, and aggregated reports for managers. Optional 1-on-1 coaching workshops are available through our certified partners.
